Surface Specialties, Inc. Announces Price Increases on Radiation Curable and Vancryl® Waterbased Product Lines

ATLANTA, GA -- Surface Specialties, Inc. announces price increases of between 3% to 15% for its radiation curable and Vancryl® waterbased product lines in North America, Mexico and Latin America effective October 15, 2004. Prices on epoxy acrylates will advance 14%, monomers 10%, and other acrylates 5%. The Vancryl® line will increase 3%-5%.

Rising prices on epoxy resin, acrylic acid, acrylate esters and polyols prompted the price hikes, company officials said. Energy and transportation costs were also contributing factors.

All price adjustments this year have been necessary to continue overcoming sagging margins that have been negatively impacted by spiraling raw material costs, shortages and allocations, company officials added.
