Vinamul Polymers Announces Price Increase on Emulsions

Published on 2005-01-21. Author : SpecialChem

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. -- Vinamul Polymers has announced that it is increasing the price on all its PVAc homopolymer and EVA co-polymers in North America by 3 cents per wet pound, effective February 1, 2005, or as contracts allow. Acrylic and vinyl-acrylic emulsions will increase by 6 cents per wet pound, effective February 1, 2005, or as contracts allow in the same region. These increases are in addition to those implemented on January 1, 2005.

The increases are necessary to offset rising raw material, energy and freight costs associated with the manufacture and distribution of these materials, according to Vinamul Polymers officials.

Vinamul Polymers, a business unit of National Starch and Chemical Company, is a global supplier of emulsion and adhesive polymers to the adhesives, paper, nonwovens, textiles and building products industries.

National Starch and Chemical Company is a worldwide manufacturer of adhesives, specialty polymers, electronic and engineering materials and natural polymers, with 2003 sales of $3.05 billion. National Starch is headquartered in Bridgewater, N.J., and is a member of the ICI Group.
