Zyvex Performance Materials (ZPM) claims its Epovex Adhesive™ line of two-part epoxy adhesives are stronger and less expensive than conventional aerospace adhesives.

According to Lance Criscuolo, president of Columbus, Ohio, USA, based Zyvex Performance Materials (ZPM): "Companies that are using expensive aerospace grade adhesives can now buy a better product that costs 30% less, and is backed with better service and distribution."

ZPM reports that laboratory tests have proven the superior T-peel and shear strength of Epovex Adhesives in composite to composite bonds, composite to metal bonds, and composite to wood bonds. In independent testing against leading industry competitors, Epovex Adhesive demonstrated 50% greater performance in T-peel strength (ASTM standard D1876) and a 15% improvement in shear strength (ASTM D1002)

"By using Epovex Adhesives, our customers will experience fewer secondary bond failures and save money at the same time," says Product Development Engineer Fred Meyer.

Nanomaterials specialist Zyvex Performance Materials also offers prepregs (see Boat built using carbon nanotube-enhanced prepreg) and epoxy resins for the composites industry.
