Arkema Introduces VAE Latex for Pigmented Caulks

Published on 2013-05-20. Author : SpecialChem

Arkema Coating Resins, a business unit of Arkema Inc., has introduced a new vinyl acetate-ethylene (VAE) latex that has been engineered to provide a cost-performance balance in interior or exterior contractor and do-it-yourself caulk formulations. Formulators can use Encor® 182 latex to meet ASTM C-834/0°C specifications or blend it with acrylic binders to meet ASTM C-834/-17°C specifications if required.

Encor® 182 also offers excellent pigment wetting and formulating latitude, and is compatible with a wide range of non-phthalate plasticizers. This new VAE latex meets the company's EnVia® certification requirements to help formulators and their customers meet their own sustainable formulating objectives.
