Among many other requirements, pharma packaging often has to overcome the issue of label ‘lift’. Low energy surfaces and/or small container diameters place enormous demands on the label adhesive. The issue can be made worse by steps taken to raise productivity. Faster production speeds can stop a previously adequate labelling material performing as required.

Designed for pharma packaging

Specialist pharma adhesive Avery Dennison S717P ensures high performance on difficult low surface energy (LSE) and small diameter containers. It also facilitates rapid re-certification – the adhesive has been tested in accordance with ISO 10993-5 standards, reducing re-qualification costs by around 20-30%* compared with start-from-scratch approval.

Formal change management means that component changes are avoided wherever possible, and a one-year notification is given in the event that change is unavoidable.

Performance that counts

S717P adheres to low surface energy containers such vials, syringes and tubes down to 10mm in diameter, including plastic (COP, PE or PP) and glass surfaces. Applied labels are stable, with no edge lift after 1 month, meaning fewer rejected containers and more satisfied end customers.

Profitable and productive

As well as cutting re-qualification costs, S717P delivers ongoing cost and productivity benefits. Overall, the product can help end users to achieve up to 20%* higher productivity.
