Panacol has launched Vitralit® 1605, an epoxy resin-based biocompatible UV cure adhesive with a high glass transition temperature of 150°C. The adhesive has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and is suitable for medical device assembly.
Vitralit® 1605 – Suitable for High Heat Applications
The one-component adhesive is transparent and adheres to glass and metal. Vitralit® 1605 can be used for fixing glass and rod lenses in endoscopes or for bonding lens stacks.
The cationic adhesive cures under UV wavelength range from 320 nm to 390 nm. The adhesive features a thermal initiator for secondary curing of shadowed areas and is suitable for applications with high heat input.
Vitralit® 1605 is chemical resistant and has low heat shrinkage. The adhesive offers stability to bond components requiring elevated operating temperatures. Vitralit® 1605 can withstand sterilization processes and is certified according to ISO 10993-5.
