Henkel Relaunches Roll-on Craft Adhesive Made with Natural Ingredients Henkel relaunches Pritt Stick, a roll-on craft adhesive. The company has focused on optimizing the stick’s high-performance, its percentage of natural ingredients, and its sustainability.

According to Henkel, the changes to the original stick adhesive do not impact on the strength of the veteran adhesive’s initial tack, its long-lasting adhesion, and its ability to be applied and repositioned without wrinkling the paper. Instead, it reports that the three differently sized adhesive sticks will be optimized for safer and even more durable crafting.

Using Post-industrial Recycled Plastic

The materials used in the production of both the adhesive and the stick that holds it changed. The amount of natural ingredients (including water) used in their production has been increased by another 7% over the 90% level of natural material used in production when using the adhesive’s original potato starch and sugar formula.

Henkel reports that it has also switched, in all but the cap and spinning mechanism, from using virgin plastic in the production of the stick that holds the adhesive. In the new stick post-industrial recycled plastic accounts for 65% of the materials used in production, and the company reports, all materials can be recycled once the Pritt Stick is empty.
