Nouryon, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, introduces Thioplast EPS 35, an aliphatic epoxy-terminated polysulfide polymer that enables high-performance adhesives to withstand harsh environments in the construction, automotive, aerospace, marine, and energy industries.
Reduces Complexities in Formulations
"
Nouryon’s customers work in challenging environments,” said Sylvia Winkel Pettersson, vice president engineered polymers at Nouryon. “
We offer solution that protects their assets under extreme conditions, enhances durability, reduces maintenance and thereby delivers significant savings and safety benefits.”
Thioplast EPS 35 is a high-performance modifier for formulations. It combines the capabilities of various epoxy modifiers in one product, enabling customers to achieve durable adhesives while reducing the complexity of their formulations.
“
The properties of Thioplast EPS 35 aliphatic epoxy-terminated polysulfide polymer make it ideal for a variety of demanding applications and challenging surfaces,” said Carlos Alva, business manager polysulfides at Nouryon. “
These include specialty adhesives such as those used in the automotive, building, construction and electrical industries.”
Thioplast EPS 35 is compatible with most Bisphenol A, A/F, F and Novolac resins and can also be used in epoxy-based adhesives and sealant formulations. The use of Thioplast EPS 35 in a given application must be tested (including, but not limited to field testing) in advance by the user to determine suitability. Thioplast EPS 35 is used in two-component systems. Typical curatives are linear or cyclic aliphatic or aromatic amines.
