Sika Corporation has introduced Sikasil® GP-101, a general purpose, acetoxy cure silicone sealant that meets the requirements of ANSI/NSF Standard 51 for direct food contact. Sikasil® GP-101 is a one-component, non-sag, elastomeric silicone for general sealing and bonding applications. This newest silicone maintains elastomeric properties up to 300°F continuous, 350°F intermittent.
Excellent Adhesion to Multiple Substrates
Sikasil® GP-101 offers joint movement of -/+ 25% capability - tested to ISO 11600 - and has excellent adhesion to many substrates without priming. Typical substrates include aluminum, fiberglass, plastic, glass, tile, ceramic, wood and painted metals. Sikasil®GP-101 has a wide service temperature range along with superior gunning and tooling.
“Sikasil® GP-101 is fast curing, which allows our customers to quickly move assembled or sealed parts,” said Mark Daniels, Vice President, Industry Transportation, A&M.
“All of our silicones are designed for many applications such as sealing trucks, trailer and RVs. It can also be used in marine applications and appliance assembly.”
Sikasil® GP-101 will be offered in 295 ml cartridges with seven different color options:

- Aluminum
- Transwhite
- Almond
- White
- Black
- Cameo White
