About USDA’s BioPreferred™ Program
The BioPreferred™ distinction recognizes that Mactac® has developed the pressure-sensitive adhesives to be independently tested and certified as USDA bio-based products.
According to the USDA-led BioPreferred™ Program, bio-based products are derived from plants and other renewable agricultural, marine and forestry materials. They provide an alternative to conventional petroleum-based products. Per the program requirements, BioPreferred™ adhesives must use biobased and renewable components instead of petroleum-based components.
