Andisil® 174 Silane

Technical DataSheet | Supplied by AB Specialty Silicones

Andisil® 174 Silane by AB Specialty Silicones is a methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane grade. Acts as an adhesion promoter at organic/inorganic interfaces, a surface modifier (e.g. imparting water repellency, organophilic surface adjustment) or a crosslinker of polymers. Improves the strength as glass fiber size composite in reinforced polyester composites. Enhances the initial and wet strength of reinforced polyester resin composites. Andisil® 174 Silane is used as a coupling agent to improve the physical and electrical properties of glass-reinforced as well as mineral-filled thermosetting resins under exposure to heat and/or moisture. It crosslinks acrylic type resins improving adhesion and durability of adhesives. It also blends additive in resin systems that cure via a free radical mechanism (e.g. polyester, acrylic) and in filled or reinforced thermoplastic polymers, including polyolefins as well as polyurethanes.
