Culminal™ MHPC 400 by Ashland is a non-ionic cellulose ether. It exhibits pseudoplastic behavior and thixotropy. It is used as a thickener, protective colloid, stabilizer, suspending aid, water-retention agent, binder, adhesion promoter, emulsion stabilizer and film former. It shows compatibility with many surfactants and polymers such as starch, guar and alginates. Culminal™ MHPC 400 is used in construction industry (tile adhesives), tobacco industry (adhesives for cigarette paper and cigar seams) and nonwoven fabrics.
