Irganox® 245

Irganox® 245 by BASF is a sterically hindered phenolic antioxidant based on ethylenebis(oxyethylene)bis-(3-(5-tert-butyl-4-hydroxy-m-tolyl)-propionate). It protects the substrates against thermo-oxidative degradation during manufacturing, processing and end-use. It is an odorless grade with low volatility, good color stability and high extraction resistance. Provides long-term thermal stability to the polymer. Irganox® 245 is compatible with styrene polymers particularly impact modified polystyrenes, PBT, PMMA, ABS, MBS, SB and SBR-latices as well as in POM homo- and copolymers, polyurethanes, polyamides, thermoplastic polyesters, PVC and other polymers. It can be used in combination with other additives such as costabilizers (e.g. thioesters, phosphites, phosphonites, lactones), light stabilizers and other functional stabilizers. Its recommended addition level is 1.0%. It is listed in AICS, DSL, IECSC, EINECS, ENCS, ECL, TSA, PICCS, BUWAL and TSCA. It is approved in many countries for use in food contact applications.
