Irganox® XP 420 FD

Irganox® XP 420 FD by BASF is a high performance stabilizer system. It is a blend of 33% IRGAFOX P-EPQ, 50% IRGANOX 1010 and 17% HP-136. It improves original melt flow and offers low initial color and outstanding color maintenance. Provides cost/performance improvements in polymer stabilization. HP-136 functions as a carbon-centered radical scavenger which inhibits process inducing oxidation. IRGAFOX P-EPQ, an organic phosphite of low volatility, protects the polymer during processing by decomposing the hydroperoxides. Irganox® 1010, a hindered phenolic antioxidant, contributes synergistically to polymer stabilization during processing and provides long-term thermal stability by preventing degradation. Irganox® XP 420 FD is compatible with elastomers, HDPE, polypropylene, engineering plastic including aliphatic polyketone, styrene homo- and copolymers and polyurethanes. Its recommended dosage rate is 0.05-0.15%. It is approved for food contact applications. It is listed in Canada, Japan, EU, Korea and USA.
