Reducing Agent TP 1646

Reducing Agent TP 1646 by Brüggemann is an advanced formaldehyde-free reducing agent for emulsion polymerization with high process robustness and odor reduction properties. It is based on an organic sulfonic acid derivative with bivalent cations. It can be used in redox systems in combination with all commonly used oxidizing agents (peroxides). The product shows increased reactivity, stability under acidic conditions and a decrease of residual monomer content. Reducing Agent TP 1646 causes no discoloration and yellowing of latex. There is no release of formaldehyde or any other VOC. It improves properties for polymers and lattices, provides better filtration of emulsion polymer. Reducing Agent TP 1646 can be applied in solution at a concentration of 3-5%, at reaction temperatures between 30 and 80°C. It has FDA food contact notification with respect to chapter TBD. Shelf life of at least 12 months is guaranteed if stored properly (25°C / dry, away from oxidizing substances or acids).
