BYK® -307

BYK® -307 by BYK is a polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane. Acts as a surfactant and a wetting agent. It is suitable for aqueous systems and recommended for solvent-borne systems. Can be used for sealants as well. This highly effective silicone additive is particularly well suited for adhesives and preferred in systems where solvent-free additives are requested or where a requirement for special solvent combinations exists. Through a series of tests, however, it should be ascertained as to whether foam is being stabilized by this additive before large-scale application starts. The adhesion and cratering should also be evaluated. BYK® -307 strongly reduces the surface tension of adhesive systems. Therefore, it especially improve substrate wetting and prevent cratering. Its recommended level is 0.01 - 0.15% based upon total formulation.
