UCD® 5750V by Vibrantz Technologies (formerly Chromaflo) is thermoplastic acrylic. It is the yellow oxide pigment dispersion. The colorant vehicle consists of a low-molecular weight acrylic resin dissolved in propylene glycol monomethyl ether (PM) acetate. This combination provides superior compatibility with two-part urethanes, epoxies, alkyds of all oil lengths, and vinyl. Also compatible with alkyd urea, alkyd melamine, acrylic isocyanate, polyester isocyanate, nitrocellulose, vinyl toluene alkyd, polyester and epoxy ester. The tinting strength of this colorant is controlled to ±2% of the standard. The color difference is controlled to less than 0.8 CIELAB units with the individual color components (DA, DB, and DL) controlled to ±0.80 CIELAB units. The low molecular weight of its vehicle i.e. nonfunctional methacrylate polymer helps to ensure full development of pigment strength while providing a rheological profile suited to automated dispensers. It is thixotropic, which makes it resistant to separation by settling or syneresis. UCD® 5750V is used for solvent-borne adhesives.
