Rosin modified phenolic resin. Acts as a tackifier. It is formed by vacuum treatment during condensation & esterification of phenol (or bisphenol A), rosin and formaldehyde with glycerol (or pentaerythritol). Exhibits high softening point. Soluble in coal tar and esters. Used in all-purpose adhesives.
