Rosin glycerol resin. Acts as a tackifier. It is formed by vacuum treatment during esterification of rosin with glycerol. Exhibits light color and insolubility in alcoholic solvents. Possesses solubility in coal tar, esters, turpentine oil and similar solvents. Mixes and polymerizes well with plant oils. Provides resistance to yellowing and heat. Used as a low cost enhancer for hot-melt, pressure-sensitive and other types of adhesives. Also used in glue industry.
