Silastic™

Silastic™ by Dow is fluorosilicone rubber-based adhesion promoter. It exhibits resistance to heat, high-temperature, fuels, oils, solvents and harsh chemicals. It offers durable stability in extreme hot & cold temperatures, application versatility, expanded flexibility and easier processing. It also shows reliable performance with heat aging & fluid exposure at temperatures exceeding 220°C. Silastic™ enhances long-term interlayer bonding between FSR and HCR. It provides long-term resistance to peeling & delamination in harsh operating conditions. Recommended for automotive applications that require thinner wall sections, lower weight, reduced systems cost and more stable performance. It is suitable for use in inner layers of complex, large-diameter turbocharger hoses, fabricated with Silastic™ high-consistency silicone rubber (HCR) outer layers. Also, used for smaller and hotter-running turbocharged engines, fuel systems and transmission seals.
