Gum rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is in the form of transparent or translucent brittle lumps with a glassy fracture and free from foreign particles. Its color is equivalent to corresponding lovibond color value or matching that of permanent glass standard. It is soluble in alcohols, ether, petroleum, hydrocarbon solvents and warm turpentine.
