Dynasylan® 9116

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Evonik
Dynasylan® 9116 by Evonik is a hexadecyltrimethoxysilane grade. It is a monomeric long chain alkylfunctional silane. However, its low volatility and viscosity make it easy to handle. During the hydrolysis reaction between water and Dynasylan® 9116 a certain amount of methanol (VOC) is released. Exhibits superior hydrophobicity on substrates and forms weather-and moisture-resistant bonds to substrates as well. Can be used for the treatment of mineral fillers and pigments or inorganic surfaces in general (like concrete, ATH, MOH). The long chain alkyl functionality results in unique compound properties (better dispersion, high filler loading, enhanced mechanical properties, reduced water uptake) when this compound is incorporated into polymers (like polypropylene). Listed with EINECS/ELINCS, AICS, PICCS, TSCA, IECS, ENCS, ECL and REACH. It has a minimum shelf life of 12 months.

Hansen Solubility Parameters

[13.9, 1.7, 1.4]
?
[δD - Dispersion force interactions, δP - Polar force interactions, δH - Hydrogen bond force interactions]

Please note, these HSP values are estimations. It is based upon the “like seeks like” principle. It splits an ingredients interactions into three parameters; δD (Dispersion force interactions), δP (Polar forces interactions) and δH (Hydrogen bond force interactions). Hansen Solubility Parameters can help you find a wide range of products that are predicted to be compatible with Dynasylan® 9116. A practical determination of these HSP values would provide higher certainty. Learn More.
