A-C® 5180 by Honeywell acts as an adhesion promoter. It is a soft, ethylene- acrylic acid copolymer grade. It enhances adhesion to hot melt adhesive. It lowers application temperature, prevents oil migration and reduces processing time. It contains acrylic acid content of 20%, exhibiting low melt viscosity and molecular weight. It imparts very low color, high polarity and melt clarity. It is recommended for industries such as packaging, medical and graphic arts. Its typical application utilize the high carboxylic acid functionality to promote adhesion to difficult surfaces and dilute higher molecular weight compatible materials like ethylene-vinyl acetate and ethylene acrylic acid for improved wetting and increased adhesive and cohesive balance. It produces excellent “stick and grab” and aggressive tack to difficult substrates. A-C® 5180 complies with IECSC, KECI and NZIoC regulations approved grade.
