A-C® 596P

Technical DataSheet | Supplied by Honeywell

A-C® 596P by Honeywell is a propylene maleic anhydride copolymer grade, suitable for aqueous adhesive applications. Used in sealants, pressure-sensitive hot melt, amorphous poly-olefin (APAO)-based and metallocene ethylene octene (MEO) copolymers adhesives. Acts as adhesion promoters even in cold temperature and shows increased heat resistance and prevents oil migration. It is compatible with ethylene vinyl acetate and PA, exhibiting excellent thermal and color stability due to their low levels of ungrafted oligomeric maleic anhydride. A-C® 596P is recommended for bookbinding, packaging, wood-working, constructions, tapes and labels. The functionalization of a non-polar polypropylene with maleic anhydride provides the low molecular weight copolymer with non-polar and polar characteristics, producing adhesion and tack to traditional polar surfaces such as steel, aluminum or glass and also to difficult surfaces such as vinyl and polypropylene.
