HYPOX® RA16213

Huntsman by Huntsman acts as a toughener or curing agent. It is an adduct of liquid diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) modified with a CTB (carboxyl terminated butadiene) and CTBN (carboxyl terminated butadiene-acrylonitrile) elastomer. It is unique by its presence of the low Tg and CTB reactive liquid polymer which is immiscible with bisphenol A derived epoxy resins. In HYPOX® RA16213 the combination of elastomers gives superior low temperature and room temperature toughening performance in dicyandiamide cured epoxy adhesives compared to HYPOX® RA1340 while maintaining solubility in the uncured epoxy resin. It improves the impact, thermal shock and peel resistance of the DGEBA resin, with exceptional performance at low temperatures. HYPOX® RA16213 is used in structural and one component epoxy adhesives.
