K-FLEX® 500

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by LANXESS
K-FLEX® 500 by LANXESS (previously Emerald Kalama Chemical) is a non-phthalate, general-purpose, polar plasticizer. It is a blend of di-propylene glycol dibenzoate and diethylene glycol dibenzoate in a ratio of about one to one by weight. It can optimize the excellent performance of K-FLEX® DP with improved handling, due to its low freeze point. It shows excellent compatibility in waterborne adhesives, and reactive sealants, including acrylic, VAE, PVAc, STPE, and STPU type chemistries. It is suitable for food contact- and pressure-sensitive adhesives. It provides good flexibility, viscosity response and adhesion (even to challenging substrates), extended open times and reduced set times. It is designed for use in plastisols, as an excellent solvator for use in such applications as resilient flooring. K-FLEX® 500 is recommended for latex adhesives, caulks and sealants. It offers improved wet tack and enhanced weatherability. It is an excellent choice for use in hot melt adhesives. It is listed in FDA 21 CFR 175.105- adhesives (part 175- indirect food additives and Subpart B-Substance for use only as components of adhesives).
