Phthalate ester of higher alcohol. It acts as plasticizer. It is clear colorless liquid with mild odor. It is used for plasticizing PVC or other polymers. plasticizers are in general high boiling point compounds that, when incorporated into a polymer, cause a greater flexibility and workability of the material. It is used in sealants.
