Alcogum® 296-W by Nouryon is a high viscosity, anionic, aqueous solution of sodium polyacrylate. It acts as rheology modifier, stabilizer and surface active agent. It possesses adhesive, suspending, emulsifying, and film-forming characteristics. It provides stable viscosity over a broad pH range. It offers resistance to biological degradation. It exhibits non-oxidizing high viscosity at low concentrations and mildew resistance. It is recommended for water based systems, such as natural and synthetic rubber latices, and polymeric dispersions, such as polyvinyl acetate and polyacrylate emulsions. Alcogum® 296-W is applicable for caulking, sealants and adhesive formulations.
