Pentalyn® A

Pentalyn® A by Pinova (DRT) is pentaerythritol ester of refined wood rosin. Acts as a tackifier. It is a synthetic and hard thermoplastic resin.

It provides excellent gloss, wide solubility range and low solution viscosity.
It is heat, light and moisture stable and exhibits excellent pigment wetting properties and high refractive index.
Compared with rosin esters derived from glycerol, this ester is a larger molecule and has about a 20°C higher softening point.
Pentalyn® A is used in hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesives.
