iso-Decyl Acrylate (IDA)

iso-Decyl Acrylate (IDA) by BASF is a monofunctional monomer with long chain hydrophobic tail which imparts flexibility and good low temperature properties. Forms homopolymers and copolymers which can be prepared with acrylic acid (& its salts), amides, esters, methacrylates, acrylonitrile, maleic acid esters, vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, vinylidene chloride, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils. Imparts low glass transition temperature, hydrophobicity, low shrinkage, chemical resistance, good wetting, weather resistance and impact strength to polymers. iso-Decyl Acrylate (IDA) readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds, hence it is also a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses.
