Culminal™ MHPC 20000 S by Ashland is a high substitution level, nonionic cellulose ether. It is used as thickener, protective colloid, stabilizer, suspending aid, water-retention agent, binder, adhesion promoter, emulsion stabilizer and film former. It possesses compatibility with many surfactants and polymers such as starch, guar and alginates. It provides pseudoplastic behavior and thixotropy. Applications of Culminal™ MHPC 20000 S include construction industry (tile adhesives), tobacco industry (adhesives for cigarette paper and cigar seams) and non-woven fabrics.
