EPON™ Resin 1031

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Westlake Epoxy
EPON™ Resin 1031 by Westlake Epoxy is a novolac-free, multifunctional epoxy resin. It possesses low concentration of ionic contaminants, saponifiable chloride content as well as low melt viscosity. At elevated temperatures, such systems have greater strength and rigidity. It shows improved moisture resistance and retention of electrical properties. This resin offers optical fluorescence, strong absorbance of UV light and good storage stability. In epoxy formulations it increases the crosslink density of cured systems and subsequently, raises the glass transition temperature. It helps prevent solder mask print through for all circuit boards. The low level of ionic impurities in this resin contributes to high electrical resistance. The low saponifiable chloride content helps to improve varnish reactivity consistency and shorten cure time with selected curing agents, the latter of which can lead to improved laminate production speeds. EPON™ Resin 1031 is used in high temperature adhesives. It has a shelf life of 5 years.
