KURARAY POVAL™ 22-88 by Kuraray is a water-soluble, partially saponified, polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) grade manufactured by alcoholysis of polyvinyl acetate. It exhibits uniform chemical structure and good adhesion. It is used as adhesive promoter and protective colloids in the polymerization of polymer emulsions. Aqueous solution of KURARAY POVAL™ 22-88 can be added to polymer emulsion which is already stabilized with polyvinyl alcohol to extend the open time, increase setting speed and influence the rheology. It is suitable for modification of emulsion adhesives and remoistenable adhesives in the paper processing industry. This grade is designed for use in postage stamps & labels, envelopes and Jiffy®-type bags. It can be stored for 12 months from the date of shipment.
