SBR 1006

SBR 1006 by Lion Elastomers is a linear, non-crosslinked styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) emulsion. It is produced via hot emulsion polymerization using a fatty acid. Exhibits consistent molecular weight and Mooney and solution viscosity.

• Offers a good balance of adhesion, cohesion & tack, shear and peel strength.
• It is a light-colored, low-gel elastomer.
• Can be combined with natural rubber to offset its softening over time.
• Shows incompatibility to oxidizing agents and solubility in solvents such as toluene, xylene, hexane, heptane, benzene (petroleum distillate), isobutyl isobutyrate (IBIB) and tertiary butyl acetate (TBAc).
• Suitable for general purpose solvent-based pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) formulations.
• Primary applications include high quality masking tapes, labels, cloth tapes and duct tapes.
• SBR 1006 can also be used in caulking and sealing compounds.
