VAD Vinyl Resin

Hydroxyl modified vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymers. A medium molecular weight, partially hydrolyzed vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate resin, made in a two-step precess, having a composition of approximately 90 percent vinyl chloride, 4 percent vinyl acetate, 6 percent vinyl alcohol, with a hydroxyl content of approximately 2.3 percent. VAD has excellent adhesion on PET, resin primer, paper, PVC, ABS etc. It has good compatibility with other film-forming material, such as alkyd resins, polyurethane elastomers, isocyanate resin, melamine resin, urea-formaldehyde, epoxy polymers and so on. The hydroxyl functional group permits crosslinking reactions for thermoset, obtaining excellent chemical and water resistance. It has applications in interbedded adhesive, and adhesive for magnetic tape and carbon ribbon.
