Adhesive Anchors – A Lesson Learned

This editorial discusses the requirements necessary to ensure the proper use of adhesive anchors. With the notoriety surrounding a recent failure and fatality, emphasis has been placed on the careful selection of adhesives and installation procedures. Adhesive anchors provide an important fastening method for fabrication structure in the building and construction industry. They are generally used in precast concrete or masonry such as tunnels and bridges, but they are also seeing some new usage in commercial and residential building construction that is increasingly using concrete structures due to environmental and economic factors.
