This article presents an overview of the antioxidants that are used in the adhesive and sealants industry. The mechanisms of oxidation are described as are the counteracting stabilization mechanisms provided by antioxidants.

The various antioxidant families are summarized and direction is provided to guide the formulator in the selection and use of antioxidants.
