Tapes and Labels Market Survey

SpecialChem / Dec 6, 2005

This report is a review of the pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) survey that was conducted by SpecialChem4Adhesives during April-May, 2005. The survey was targeted to global adhesive converters participating in the tape and label markets. This report was prepared for those responding to the survey in gratitude for their participation. There were 357 responses (12.1% response rate) to the survey. Of these, 166 responses were from tape suppliers, and 191 responses were from label suppliers. In both the tape and label markets, there was a very good and uniform response rate (>26%) from the three largest regions: Asia / Pacific, Western Europe, and North America . The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council defines PSAs as materials, which in dry form are aggressively and permanently tacky at room temperature and firmly adhere to a variety of dissimilar surfaces upon mere contact without the need of more than finger pressure. The versatility of pressure sensitive tapes and labels is so enormous that complete tabulation of all their uses is virtually impossible.
