Will adhesive raw material prices ever come back down?

Andy Extance – Apr 1, 2011

Historically price fluctuations for adhesive raw materials have been directly affected by price changes in petrochemical and energy. With the International Energy Agency predicting that crude oil will never again be produced at the record output of 70 million barrels per day set in 2006, and oil prices nearing $120/barrel in March, there's considerable cause for concern for adhesive formulators. While more directly biologically-derived raw materials offer some possibility of respite, supply issues here and across the all raw material types could be set to become increasingly important drivers of prices.
