Amino silanes typically provide an excellent adhesion performance and further properties to many adhesives and sealants systems. However, the use of amino silanes often is limited by incompatibilities with other formulation ingredients. These limitations are challenging formulators of 1K epoxy adhesives and other epoxy hybrid products e.g. MS Polymer®/epoxy adhesives and 1K polyurethanes.
Evonik offers a special, blocked amino silane as adhesion promoter with excellent benefits for adhesives. In the presence of moisture, the blocked amine (imine) forms a free amino silane to improve the adhesion of 1K epoxy and epoxy hybrid, 1K polyurethane, and acrylic based adhesives and sealants.
