Resulting Properties
The formulation above is for a 2K insulating glass sealant based on polybutadiene polyol. Using polybutadiene polyol will provide much better hydrolytic stability than other conventional polyols (e.g., polyester or polyether). The unique flexible, rubbery and hydrophobic structure of the Poly bd® resin provides properties that surpass both polyether and polyester urethane systems, especially for long-term properties. For IGU applications, Poly bd®-based PUs easily overcome a 10-year lifetime.
