Applicable Base Polymer Properties
Styrene block copolymers (SBCs) offer cohesion, strength, and heat resistance for both adhesives and sealants. The styrene phase forms a physically crosslinked network within the adhesive at room temperature. Of the SBCs, styrene butadiene styrene has the highest shear strength and moderately good peel strength.
Dynasol Solprene® 4302 is a linear SBS copolymer, contains 31% of styrene, and it develops excellent cohesive strength / tack balance, and offers reduced viscosity. Solprene® 1205 is an S-SBR with excellent to improve surface wetting and tack.
