Ashland expands facilities in England to include Pressure Sensitive Adhesives

Ashland Specialty Chemical Company, a division of Ashland Inc., has expanded its facility in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England. This fully automated plant is Ashland's second European facility to manufacture pressure sensitive adhesives. Ashland is a global supplier of pressure sensitive adhesives used in the applied graphics, tape and label markets.

"Bringing this plant expansion online allows Ashland to provide its European customers with product development resources and highly-customized technical and distribution solutions," said Elizabeth Potts, vice president and general manager, Specialty Polymers and Adhesives (SP&A). "This facility shows our commitment to our European customers and strategically positions Ashland for market growth."

Ashland recognizes the trend toward globalization in the pressure sensitive adhesives market and the need to serve its customers locally. This first-class facility employs 80 people, offers state-of-the-art manufacturing, quality control, product development and technical service capabilities for pressure sensitive adhesives.

"Ashland is demonstrating our leadership in the pressure sensitive adhesives market by expanding our product offering and delivering our European customers tailored and localized solutions."

Operational since April, this facility complements another on-site metal casting products and services operation managed by Ashland Casting Solutions.
