BASF demonstrates low VOC solutions for pressure sensitive tape applications at PSTC

CHARLOTTE, NC -- With the industry facing emerging regulations and growing consumer demand for environmentally friendly products, BASF will present solutions that can help manufacturers of pressure sensitive adhesive products to be successful at the Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC) Week of Learning, May 10-14, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"The industry needs to address both ecological and functional needs for specific applications," said Subu Natesan, Marketing Manager, Pressure Sensitive Adhesives, for BASF in North America. "The combination of existing BASF capabilities with the people, products and technology acquired with Ciba means we can now help adhesive manufacturers produce high performance products in an environmentally and socially responsible manner."

Karl Heinz-Schumacher, Development Manager, BASF SE, will present a paper titled, "Water-borne Removable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives - Challenges and Novel Concepts."

BASF experts will be on hand to discuss the company's broad portfolio of products for pressure-sensitive applications, including:
  • acResin® acrylic adhesives,
  • Acronal®, Butofan® and Acrodur® dispersions and coater-ready adhesives,
  • Oppanol® polyisobutylene,
  • Irganox® and Irgafos® antioxidants,
  • Tinuvin® ultraviolet light absorbers and stabilizers, and
  • Irgacure® and Lucirin® photoinitiators.
