Beardow Adams, one of the top five European manufacturers of hot melt adhesives and hot melt pressure sensitive adhesives, has acquired the business assets of Fentac Adhesives Limited.

Wellingborough based Fentac, which was founded in 1988, has had a long and successful history of developing and producing hot melts and other industrial adhesives.

"Its absorption into the Beardow Adams brand allows us to combine the products and expertise of Fentac with our own," says Bob Adams, Beardow Adams' Chairman and Managing Director.

"Indeed, it adds more to our product mix, enabling us to create further advantage for our customers through an expanded product range that will help to enhance their performance and profitability."

Since its foundation in 1977, much of Beardow Adams' investment has been in plant and equipment. It has the single largest hot melt manufacturing plant in Europe - 12 individual production lines with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes/annum producing hot melts as pastilles, pellets, prills and slats, and pressure sensitives in film wrapped EcoBlocks and conventional silicone paper wrapped blocks.

"As a winner of three Queen's Awards, including one for our innovative BAMFutura hot melt range, we have long been able to call upon wide ranging expertise from colleagues and suppliers around the globe," says Mr Adams. "This has enabled our R&D team to develop products that have become class leaders."
