Birla Carbon Earns ISCC+ Certification for Its USA & South Korea Plants

Birla Carbon ISCC Certification USA South Korea Plants Birla Carbon announces that its USA (Hickok) and South Korea (Yeosu) plants have secured the ISCC PLUS certification with zero non-conformities. The accomplishment reflects Birla Carbon’s commitment to sustainability and circularity. Birla Carbon remains dedicated to implementing sustainable practices. This recognition reinforces its commitment to responsible operations.

Committing to Environmental Responsibility


Birla Carbon is actively pursuing ISCC PLUS certification for several other global plants. The certification process for two units in Brazil is underway. The other three units in India, Spain, Egypt and Hungary are also ongoing. The remaining sites are slated for completion through the remainder of CY 2024.

We are proud to announce the ISCC PLUS certification for our plant in Hickok (USA) and Yeosu (Korea). It marks another milestone in our sustainability journey. This globally recognized certification is in line with Birla Carbon’s aspiration to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. It also lines with the successful introduction of Continua™ Sustainable Carbonaceous Material (SCM).

Birla Carbon’s Italy plant received ISCC PLUS certification in May 2023. This makes it the first plant to receive this certification. It showcases the business’ dedication to providing advanced products to the industry.
