Bodo Möller Chemie & Henkel Expand Cooperation for ElectronicsBodo Möller Chemie Group is expanding the collaboration with the manufacturer Henkel Bergquist and offers the complete product family of thermally conductive materials for the electronic and electrical sector in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux.

Henkel offers comprehensive solutions in the market in order to solve the thermal challenges with thermally conductive yet electrically insulating adhesives, films and gap fillers. Demand has grown enormously, above all in automotive and aviation, but also in many other sectors. Hence, Henkel Bergquist is the ideal partner that can offer users a complete solution portfolio from one single source,” said Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board at Bodo Möller.

Cutting Competence Center

In addition, an own plotter service offers customers of the specialty chemicals company the delivery of directly usable products such as Thermal GAP PAD®, Thermal SIL PAD®, High Flow (phase change materials) and Bond Ply, a two-sided adhesive solution for thermally stressed bondings. Besides ready plotted products, liquid materials such as Thermal Gap Filler are available.

With its own plotter and the newly established Cutting Competence Center, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group takes another step forward. “We see a growing demand in customers that receive not only products and expertise from a supplier like us, but also pre-produced products that can be directly processed. We guarantee the expertise and with it, always consistent quality of the products plotted by us,” explains Berit Hoffmann, Account Manager at Bodo Möller.

Effective cooling extends the useful life and reliability of electronic components. Thus, for example, LED lamps retain their light color because they can be operated under constant temperature.

Heat conductivity is more than the lambda value, which indicates one thermal property. Through our consulting services, we support customers when they select the optimal TIM for the application while we can deliver the parts quickly for the series or sampling by using the plotter,” adds Berit Hoffmann of Bodo Möller Chemie.

From Selection to Product

Thermal interface materials are increasingly used in the electronics sector – in battery packs, electric drives, modern automotive light solutions, power electronics and they are equally needed by manufacturers and suppliers. The technically superior in-house Cutting Competence Center of Bodo Möller Chemie can digitally kiss cut or through cut the thermally conductive material in one operation.

Afterwards, the components are checked and optically measured with a state-of-the-art measuring microscope. This makes almost all contours possible, and production can be displayed from the prototype to large-scale production. Thanks to the digital cut, flexible contour adjustments are possible. In this way, the Bodo Möller Chemie Group can display the complete value chain for thermally conductive solutions – from selecting the technically most suitable material for the production and logistics chain as well, all the way to the cut. Cutting and printing can be performed in one work step.

With this service, we keep expanding our service portfolio by a significant unit together with Henkel Bergquist,” summarizes Frank Haug, Chairman of the Board of the Bodo Möller Chemie Group.
