Bostik offers SMP-based Adhesives, ISR 70-03 or 70-08 AP, to Nanogate to create shatterproof polycarbonate glazing solution. The glazing is suitable for riot control vehicles (RCVs) and vandalism proof vehicles, rally cars, forest equipment, and can be used as window replacement for classical cars that are out of regular production.
SMP-based Adhesive Reduces Application Errors
Bostik provided high-performance bonding agents for the thermoformed polycarbonate glazing parts with its industrial range of silyl modified polymer- based (SMP) adhesives. The use of Bostik’s adhesives, ISR 70-03 or 70-08 AP, reduces the cost-in-use and decreases the likelihood of application errors. The easy and simple bonding process allowed by these SMP adhesives will not give rise to stress cracking of the composite window nor to chemical degradation of the printed border.

ISR 70-03 is one of the products selected for the project due to its elasticity and benefits like good UV resistance and excellent ageing properties.
ISR 70-08 AP demonstrates the same good UV-resistance and ageing properties but at a higher Green Strength, which results in an instantly strong bond with an extremely good slump resistance.
Bostik ISR-Range is Solvents & Isocyanate-free
Bostik ISR-range is free of solvents and isocyanate whilst the adhesives can adhere to a multitude of substrates, in general without specific pre-treatment. In this case the adhesive products can be applied primerless to Nanogate’s inkjet-printed polycarbonate substrates and do not give rise to chemical attack/stress cracking of the polycarbonate nor the graphic inkjet print, which creates a unique and highly durable bonding solution.
