MIDDLETON, MASS. -- Bostik Flooring Group is proud to announce latest addition to its DURABONDÒ line - D-190 DuraPoxyä Epoxy-Modified Grout and Mortar Admixture.

D-190's special epoxy-modified formula gives the grout and mortar admixture increased resistance to common household abrasives such as dilute acids, household foods and cleaners, food waste, de-icing salts, gasoline, diesel fuel and other hydrocarbon solvents. Its epoxy encapsulation also reduces the potential for staining.

"We're excited to introduce yet another customer-driven expansion of our successful DURABOND line to the market," said Phil Pitts, Bostik Flooring Group's Hardwood Products Manager. DURABOND D-190 is the first epoxy-modified member of DURABOND's flooring products. Joining its sister polymer-modified cements, epoxy-modified D-190 is a versatile grout and admixture."

DURABONDÒ D-190 is the perfect grouting and setting system for countertops and backsplashes in kitchens; restaurants; bathrooms; malls; concourses; service garages; food processing or packaging plants; schools; hospitals; hotels or anywhere stain and chemical resistance or superior shear/bond strength are required.

When mixed with DURABOND Fortified Tile Grout (sanded only), D-190 is for interior and exterior installations to set and/or grout all ceramic, porcelain, quarry, granite, slate, cultured marble, limestone, pre-cast terrazzo and all dimension stone tiles. DURABOND D-190 DuraPoxy Epoxy-Modified Grout and Mortar Admixture can also be used over properly prepared concrete; structurally sound exterior grade plywood (in interior applications); cementitious backer board; DuraGuard D-222; and existing well-bonded vinyl/VCT or ceramic tile. (Note: contractors should not use the product with moisture-sensitive stone).

Contractors will appreciate DURABOND D-190's superior shear, bonding flexural, tensile and compressive strengths, as well as its excellent workability and ease-of-use, said Robert McNamara, Bostik Flooring Group's National Sales and Marketing Manager.

"This is a product with staying power," McNamara said. "Bostik Flooring Group is well-known for leading the market with innovations uniquely designed and proven to help contractors turn installation obstacles into opportunities and D-190 is certainly no exception."

D-190, which exceeds ANSI A 118.8 standards, comes in two parts: a resin emulsion and an emulsion hardener. Once mixed, contactors can slowly add a 25-pound bag of DURABOND Fortified Tile Grout (sanded only) in any color except white. (Note: Bostik does not recommend using with its white grout because the epoxy is yellow and it could discolor the grout.)

Based in Middleton, Mass., Bostik Inc. is one of the largest manufacturers of adhesives and sealants in the world. Its parent company, TOTAL S.A., the fourth-largest oil company in the world, is a $160 billion multinational company with extensive interests in oil exploration, petroleum refining and the formulation of specialty chemicals.
