MIDLAND, Mich. -- As one of the industry leader, The Dow Chemical Company's (NYSE: DOW) Performance Packaging business will showcase its broad portfolio of innovative packaging solutions at PACK EXPO International 2012, October 28-31 in Chicago, Ill.

During PACK EXPO, Dow will introduce a new laminating adhesive, ADCOTE™ Adhesives and Coatings, a new series of AGILITY™ Processing Accelerators and two breakthrough additions to its existing DOWLEX™ Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) resins portfolio. These products cover a wide range of packaging requirements that can help manufacturers gain a competitive advantage and add value to their businesses.

  • ADCOTE™ L 76-185/CR 811B is a solvent-based adhesive specifically designed for high-temperature laminate use, including retort applications, to help improve the performance of various packaging applications including coffee and liquid packaging, as well as cable wraps. This adhesive has full FDA compositional compliance with 21CFR 177.1390, for laminates used at temperatures of 250°F and above, 21CFR 175.1395 for laminates used at 120 °F - 250°F, and 21CFR 175.105 for laminates used at up to 120°F.

  • AGILITY™ Processing Accelerators is a family of LDPE resins specifically designed to help improve processing of LLDPE-rich blends and increase output on blown and cast film lines.

  • Two new additions to the DOWLEX™ LLDPE portfolio offer improved processing and five to 10 percent higher blown film line output, while delivering the same great physical properties the DOWLEX™ LLDPE product family is known for.

Along with these exciting product offerings, Dow will host a variety of unique informational forums entitled Networks with Answers, highlighting Dow's technical knowledge, packaging solutions, product applications and collaborative relationships across the value chain.

"Dow continues to work very hard to be a leading innovator of packaging solutions, delivering value to our customers and enabling better packaging for society," said Dave Kyle, North America Performance Packaging Director of Marketing for Dow. "At this year's PACK EXPO, Dow will illustrate how its portfolio of industry-leading products and technologies - resins, films and adhesives - can be tailored to meet virtually every packaging need. Dow has one of the largest portfolios in the industry and our packaging team continues to partner with customers and the value chain to develop solutions that expand the marketplace."

Dow is proud to be hosting its Pack Partners breakfast event on Tuesday, October 30 featuring Jerry Greenfield, co-founder of Ben and Jerry's Homemade, Inc., as the keynote speaker. Mr. Greenfield will discuss his innovative, sustainable and community-oriented business practices. His commitment to unique ice cream concepts and collaborations with some of the country's most influential leaders is well aligned with Dow's dedication to sustainability and innovation.

Dow's broad portfolio of resins and films offers machine manufacturers, converters, brand owners, retailers and consumers advantageous options to help improve operational efficiencies, economics, functional performance, aesthetics, convenience and sustainability across a variety of high value plastic packaging market segments.
